« Covid - aai !!! »

Baie dinge het in die laaste 12 maande gebeur, en behalwe vir die COVID gemors, het ek nou n voltydse boer geword. Ons het ons huis in Kaapstad verkoop, en ek is nou permanent woonagtig op ons plaas te Stanford.

Dit het lank gevat om in te sink, maar dit is n ongelooflike gevoel.

Covid has been a blessing in disguise for me, fulfilling many tasks that i would previously never been able to get to.

My dream of having an intensive sheep farm [ie - all sheep are premanently housed under one roof], has now become a reality. All my sheep, totalling close to 500  [250 ewe unit], will be housed under one roof stretching 120 m x 38m, in pens 9 x 6m carrying 20-30 sheep each, and quantities are dependent on age and stage of production.

Building is now in process, and should soon be completed, - VERY EXCITING.

The further idea of erecting a small meat processing plant - a Dehli- on the farm,  is also being planned, specializing in selling the quality Ile de France lamb.
