« Huge fire in the Hermanus area »

Another potential disaster presented itself when a huge fire in the Hermanus area also nearly caused serious problems at Fijnbosch Farm.

A scary few days were spent fighting a fire that did not want to go away.

Our initial damage was small but as the wind changed new dangers arrived

Every time one thought that it was over – a new spark started – that put everything in danger again – the buildings as well as the livestock.

After 7 days of monitoring the fire was eventually totally extinquished by rain
