« Denvor stud - does it again! »
National IDF Show – Pietermaritzburg (May 2011)
It was a very successful day out of the office for Denvor Stud – DTC - where we once again achieved the most points at the national show.
This included awards for Grand Champion ram [DTC 9122] as well as Reserve Grand Champion ram [DTC 9311]:
DTC 9122 later became the Supreme Champion Sheep on show.
DTC 5084 - who was the Grand Champion in 2009 and is now owned by Henk Moller – also became Grand Champion Ewe as well as the Supreme Champion Ewe at the show:
In the class of Rams (24-36 months), DTC stood 1st to 4th:
DTC 9122 – 1st DTC 9323 – 2nd DTC 9385 – 3rd DTC 9320 - 4th
It is also noteworthy that the Grand Champion ewe – DTC 5084 – did well with her
progeny:
- her sons were DTC 9323 and DTC 9320 - her ewe lamb came 2nd in the 9 – 12 month class - and in the 15-18 age group came 4th - 4th was also earned in the 18-24 age group - in big classes.
The Junior Champion ram was also the progeny of a Denvor ram - DTC 6017
More importantly, these lambs all originated from embryo transplanting!
