Die Denvor skape het laas Donderdag op Randfontein arriveer, na 30 ure se ry van die KAAP af.

Gelukkig was daar geen skades nie en die skape het gesong aangekom, - maar net baie dors en honger.

Hulle het baie gou hertstel en was goed opgepas deur COLIN.         BAIE DANKIE COILIN.

How intensive can we go??

JAN WESSELS has now made more improvement on the INTENSIVE SHEEP FARMING  parameters.

Weaning your ewe on day 1!!!

JAN weaned 300 IDF X SAM lambs on day 1, after a suck of colostrum, and put them on a special milk substitute fed from milk macchine. The weaned lambs learn to suck on the teat quite readily.

30 Lambs per pen where the milk machine replenishes the milk automatically.

400 lambs per machine and the machine at this stage costs around R80 000.

A special creep feed is put out after day 5 .

The lambs are weaned off the milk on day 30 and onto this creep - AND hardly any mortalities.

THE COSTS ARE BEING WORKED ON AT THE MOMENT.

The ewe udder apparently does not get affected- AND CAN BE REMATED 35 DAYS AFTER WEANING.

That means 5 lambing periods in 3 years!!!

- less mortalities

- less predators

 

NEXT SALE - DENVOR and FLEUR DE LIERS SALE - 10/11/2018

The second Legends Sale will take place on Saturday, 10 November on WITFONTEIN, near RANDFONTEIN, the beautiful farm of Colin and Elana Coorejes.

There will be 75 registered ewes and 25 registered Ile de France rams on sale and promises to be another bumper sale with quality animals.

Denvor is trots om hierdie trop ooie op die veiling te he, en daar sal ook goeie stoet ramme op wees.
