SHEEP IN VITRO

Denvor stud undertook another first - sheep in vitro
4 x 3 month old ewe lambs were used @stellenbosch university to remove ocyds
and impregnate these with ram semen in a test tube
44 ocyds were removed and impregnated
17 were fertilized which have now been put into carrier ewes
We are anxiously awaiting the results
This is a far cheaper method than embryo flushing 

PRODUKSIE VEILING 2013

Highest price for a ram = R20000    -   DTC 1159

Average price for rams sold = R8700 

Highest price for a ewe  = DTC 0134  = R6000
Average price for ewes  = R4600
