Embryos and Semen Availability

Several embryos have been sold to Australia and Brazil, with huge success. Besides having embryos in stock for the above markets, Denvor Stud also does an annual flush from the top 10 ewes in the flock.

It basically means that 100 – 150 lambs of genetic quality are produced annually, which speeds up genetic improvement drastically. ie - producing quality lambs from quality dams sooner than the normal rate of conception.

"Hi Derek Here are some photos of Idf out of a first-cross ewe. We have sold four small lots ranging from 51.6-56 dressing percentage. Photos of first-cross ewe lamb and Idf lamb that we had at sheep vention. Ewe weighed 50.5kgs - score 1. Lamb weighed 53.5kgs - 16ml fat, 30kgs dressed or 56% yield. The Idf are proving everything we thought thus far and better. The big test will come in about two weeks when we calm asses (michael) 300 50% lambs out of Kelso ewes and sell the whether portion. Having fine skins and the potential to lamb 3 times every two years (like they do in SA) I am convinced we are on a real financial winner.
